Clay Jeter’s Jess + Moss was my favorite movie of 2011. It premiered at Sundance 2011 and was screened at a number of other festivals, winning acclaim and awards along the way. I saw it twice at the Nashville Film Festival, where it was winner of the Ground Zero Tennessee Spirit Award for Best Feature Film. It is a beautiful, poetic film, and it was especially close to my heart because it was filmed within 20 miles of the farm where I grew up in rural West Tennessee. As far as I know no feature films have ever been filmed back around home, so the fact that a film this wonderful was born this near to me has truly taken me aback. This week Jess + Moss was released for digital purchase and rental, and according to Amazon it will be released on DVD March 20.
